Our Service & Assistance Dogs

Our mission is to provide service and assistance dogs to disabled American Veterans and children with neurological or physical disabilities.

These highly trained and intuitive canines are able to assist with mobility assistance and other physical needs and are trained to meet the specific needs of each indiviudal.

Some of the tasks that we train for include:

  • Pick up dropped items
  • Open and close doors
  • Turn lights on and off
  • Retrieve items
  • Carry items
  • Assist with balance & mobility
Our beautiful and talented Golden Retrievers also provide improved social integration and an increased sense of independence to those they serve.

PAWS dogs are bred and trained to meet specific program standards and all applicants must meet program requirements based on our guidelines.

We do not train or place dogs for seizure support, visual impairments, diabetic alert or emotional support and comfort.

Please visit Assistance Dogs International for a list of member programs that may be able to help with these needs.
